Configuring Outlook Express



When? Configure Outlook Express so you can download emails to your home machine rather than using up your space on the server.
HowTo:
  • Click on the Tools menu in Outlook Express.
  • Click on E-mail Filtering.
  • Click on Accounts.
  • Click on Add.
  • Click on Mail.
  • Follow the prompts:
    • Display Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the FROM field of emails.
    • Email Address: The email account you are creating.
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.YourDomain.com.
    • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.YourDomain.com.
    • Account Name:
    • If this is for the account created at the time of your webhosting account, just enter your username.
    • If you created this account in your control panel, enter your email address.
  • You've now created your account - so let's setup some of the properties for it:
    • Select your account and click Properties.
    • Give your account a name.
    • Click the Servers tab.
    • Click My server requires authentication.
    • Click Settings.
    • Click Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.
