Creating an FTP Account

When? When you wish to give access to the files in your site (or part of your site) to another user.
How? You can decide which directory the new FTP user will be able to access.
HowTo:
  • Select FTP Manager in your control panel.
  • Select FTP Accounts.
  • You will see some accounts that cPanel has created automatically. These cannot be deleted.
  • Click Add Account.
  • Create a new login and password for the new FTP Account.
  • cPanel automatically creates a subDirectory (folder) with the same name as the Username.
  • If you change the directory to / then the user will have FTP access to the entire site, instead of just the specified directory.
